Oh no! the farm is flooding!!

I had a juvenile get stuck in the water and nearly drown(would have if i hadn't found him), he was always "special" after that and had small seizures besides being not right.

If it's real bad, look around town for some pallets or something that that you can stack and set a board on top of for a dry spot. I am sure the ducks will love the water but also appreciate an "island" to get out of it too.

We had to leave because it was getting higher and if we didnt we would have been stuck.

I did put a pallet in with them, but I couldnt get another one in because they were really heavy, and my mom wouldnt let me cause we had to go.

Quacker jack: I dont know if my moms chickens are gonna make it

usually they climb on top of the coop, so maybe they are ok. Thanks guys!

Good luck, Duck Girl. I hope you get home soon.
Your Mom has to take care of you & your family first. You have time to worry over & pamper your ducks in ways she may not.
Have patience and faith. We have a lot of modern conveniences our forebears did not, and chickens and ducks found ways to hang in through tough weather.
Just keep your spirits up and use this time to think of ways to improve their habitat. I know my habitat is never "done", but ever evolving... It is what it is. It keeps my wallet from getting too heavy.

got home and all is well. The chickens are ok, and so are the goats and ducks. The only bad thing that happend was the ducklings ran out of water while I was gone :lqu

Whew! So glad you are all okay! Perhaps this episode will give you some ideas on how to improve things now that the urgency has passed.

We're up on a hillside. If floodwaters get here, I'll be looking for an ark! But we have other hazards, mostly the cold, ice and snow (about three feet deep half the winter last year).

Cannot tell you how relieved I am.

Thanks for the update!
