Well... this guy is a Roo fosho! We named him Big John.
About 50 days old. Either OEG or a Golden Phoenix. I am new at this and still guessing :)

Now this one was named Grace. She showed no signs of Rooness till a few days ago.
Same age as Big John (about 50 days) and I am 99% sure she is a Crele OEG.

Then my 2 Silkies (also 50 days old)
They started roosting recently, but on chilly nights they sit on the coop floor in a corner with the little guys under them.
We named them Tony and Poodle, but we are not sure who is Tony and who is Poodle!

Last but not least... Emilia (she flies A LOT) and LeRoy.
Almost sure they are OEGs (also 50 days old)
Pretty sure both are Ladies. But I thought the same about Grace!!!

They just merged with my 6 Golden Comets (They are 2 weeks older and 2-3 times the size of the Bantams).
Things are going fine, no injuries, very little chasing around or pecking.
My neighbors agreed to one Rooster in the neighborhood and I hate to think that Grace might be the 3rd Roo out of 6 Bantams :(

Lots of cockerels! I'd say all but the last one

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say Grace is a hen. I had crele oegb and sometimes they get a pretty good comb on them. Have you heard her crow? What is her roo behavior? My crele Roos had much longer saddle and hackle feathers and had lighter shoulder patches. I could be wrong. On the silkies, I would say the first one is a hen and the second one a roo. The chickens sitting on the smaller ones is not really a good indication of sex. I have a frizzle roo who sits on eggs and babies. I have lots of pics. It is so funny. Also the last pics look like hens to me. Sometimes it is hard to tell. They will trick you. Lol

Oh no!!!! That will break my girls heart!
(And mine! I admit it

I was really hoping for one of the Silkies and little Grace to be pullets!
We are keeping Big John, but will have to find a new home for all the other dudes.

Graces comb just turned red over night and started growing in size. Compared to the black chicks (same age) it just seems very advanced.
She is also the bravest of the bunch. Sometimes chasing the Silkies around stealing their treats.
I already made my peace with one of the Silkies being a Roo. Just did not know who the Roo is :)
As far as behavior goes, ALL OF THEM are chest bumping as soon as I let them out in the morning.
I have never witnessed my Golden Comets do that and they are 2 weeks older.

You gotta remember, oegb are really sassy. My hens would chest bump and sometimes even fight the roosters. My crele oegb roo was much lighter. I will try to find a pic of him.

Makes me feel a lot better!
There is still hope :)
I guess I will know for sure once they lay an egg or start to crow!

I have only had chickens for about 4-5 years now. And I have had a several roosters show up in the mix even though I have never ordered any. I have noticed though if there's more then one, they will often spar at a young age. And when I have observed this behavior. I find they are usually roo's.
