Oh Repecca! No!

Look at Repecca's neck feathers. Compare them to your pullets' neck feathers. Look at them compared to the picture MillersFarm posted. If you are allowed to keep roosters, I'd keep him. You're going to have a hard time finding anyone to take him anyway with all of his issues.

Just tell your family that he's "special" so you doubt the eggs are fertilized. Or don't give them your eggs if they're going to be fussy. Or tell them you think he's a crowing hen and leave it at that.
I couldn't give Repecca away. S-he is such a love. I could return her to the breeder but I'm sure that would result in culling because of her issues. I need to figure out how to separate her. Hubby says no to a House rooster. I'm struggling to get started on building a bigger coop and longer run. How am I ever gonna also make a separate area for Repecca!

I am a problem solver. I will work this out. (Still hoping against hope for a crowing hen.)

My daughter and her family, and hubby n I, all live together. Daughter n I bought the house together. Everyone takes care of the chooks to some extent. They'd know if Repecca decided to be frisky with the buffs. Hasn't happened yet but if it does all consuming of eggs would cease. And they're already wondering if it has. LOL
>Going into problem solving mode<

It's just the thought that they could possibly be eating a fertile egg.
There's nothing wrong with eating fertile eggs-- most of us do. One person posted today that they put a Walmart egg in their incubator and it hatched. Consider this a teachable moment type of thing. You don't want to sacrifice Repecca's life because of someone's unjustified food prejudice.....
