Oh Repecca! No!

People have been eating fertile eggs for thousands of years. You can't tell the difference, unless you let a broody sit on them for a few days.

But if they refuse, then more eggs for you I guess. They can eat the store bought ones instead.
Yeah, that's how it would go here. "If you don't like the eggs, you can go buy your own. What? You can't afford a dozen eggs? Well, eat what we have or don't eat them." Did you buy the chickens together?

Or how about this: give them an egg from your coop and one from the grocery store (if you can have them the same color) and have them see if they can tell the difference. If they can't, problem solved. (Although the problem would also be solved if you told them to buy their own... But I don't live in your house or know your circumstances, so you will have to deal with it as you see fit. Just don't go separating poor Repecca. In my opinion, it would be better if you gave him away, no questions asked. Then he wouldn't have to live a lonely life.)

First watch this:

So, now what do I do?
6 months old, first crow. So much smaller than Mr Marvin Roo that I returned to my breeder in exchange for pullets. I really didn't think she was a he! I don't want roosters, but "Repecca" has always been special. Fearless and friendly, underfoot looking for attention and treats. I've nursed Repecca for sour crop, bought a bra for "her" oversized cleavage, massaged her crop every day, tried to teach her to roost in spite of being pigeon toed. I don't know if I can trade him in cuz I love this chook. And I worry what would happen because of his disabilities. Probably be culled!
Has anyone ever had a House ROOSTER? I'm just beside myself!:th:hit
That is too cute.

Yesterday I made this video. If I knew then what I know now. I can never a a photo of her, she thinks the camera is gonna produce food so I only get face shots. When I first got her I wondered if she was a he, but her brother was sooooo much bigger and well groomed. Being such a newb I figured lavender orp pullets just looked a bit different. :smack
Ok, I'm not too bright am I.
Here' the vid. See what you think.
FABULOUS names!

My daughter, son in law, and grandkids won't eat the eggs if there is a chance it is fertile, just the thought puts them off.
I did have a rooster for a few weeks. I'm really hoping I have a crowing hen!
Do not show them or even talk about you know what around them! :barnie

I honestly have no (for sure) idea, but I too really think she is a SHE!
