I concur with not allowing anyone under the age of 17 see the movie. The content is very mature and let's face it...girls are in LOVE with this book/movie phenomenon. We can "hope" that most will see the movie and realize it's not real. Others...well, others will prove it by following in Bella's footsteps.

Actually, the movies are more appropriate than the books. The books go too far into detail. My Mom, actually is iffy with me reading the Twilight and New Moon. Luckily for her, I'm not intrested in the books.

I'm going to guess we are going into different values. Mine is more the slight pedophilia aspect, the insane stalking issues and the I MAN, I RULE and you girl, you sissy and do as I say values being shown.

What do you mean by different values? Because my mom let's me read something I might be interested in (upon her approval) makes her values below yours??? Just curious. My mom encourages all types of reading, regardless of what another's opinion on it may be. And besides, sometimes reading for entertainment is enjoyable - not constantly reading into the author's meaning. Just look at ALL of Disney's movies...... And like I said, I didn't even finish the first book, so I'm not sure of your point.

Besides being full of suck as a song, I found it rather benign in terms of sexuality and G style. She is basically singing about whipping her hair around. Not too much of a big deal. It could be worse: talking of slinging, and <insert worse things out here>.

No, I'm not saying her values are worse than mine. We just have different values. What makes the movies/books PG-13/R rated doesn't overly bother me - my 14 y/o has seen the Daniel Craig James Bond movies and that doesn't bother me. What bothers me are the problems I listed already. I know others who have problems with the R rated aspects, but don't think of the issues that bother me. Which is fine. I don't understand how someone can have a problem with that and not see my issues, but oh well, that's not a huge issue.

I'm not finding anything about the song horribly offensive. It's a generic pop song, the singer while wearing IM(old, cranky adult)O ugly clothes is none the less fully covered which is more than I can say for most pop song videos. The lyrics are by far more tame than the current over-played pop ditty of Last Friday Night or whatever that song is called.

Most of their live videos show them throwing their hair around.
