You will need to make your own.
Or use 90% rubbing alcohol. It is sold with regular rubbing alcohol. The benefits to alcohol, it also evaporates water. So if it spills, the coop get disinfected as well as a bit dryer.;)

Thank you! I bought a disinfectant from the elevator but the alcohol sounds like a good idea too. Wonder who has it in 5 gallon buckets?Hope to dip my boots before I go from one coop to the next. Have rubber pans to put it in but spray bottle is sounding good.I use deep litter and it's pretty dry thankfully, turn it every other day and add more plus stall sweetner. Birds dust bathe in it if the wood ash etc. bowl runs low.

Well, you can always go with high proof vodka. Might work out better for $$. On the other hand, might end up with pickled eggs too.

Do you have a quarantine coop for new birds, or hospital coop for sick birds, that you are concerned about tracking something from one coop to the other on your own place ? Or maybe your coops are on separate properties ?

-20 below wind chill last night. No heat in the coop. The hens were excited to get out of the coop this morning. Had to change the water a few times but other than that they were all good. Except the rooster did not like me feeding the hens a treat and he came at me a few times. when I took my coat off and tried to get him with it he took off. Funniest thing watching him with a treat in his mouth and calling them to the other side of the run to come eat it but they were staying with me because I had a lot more treats than he did. But I didn't have a coat on anymore.

I need help(not THAT kind, your members here too you know!). I have 2 legbar hens and lost my roo to a rail on the roost impailing him when it let go last week.
I also have about 6 French black Marans hens 2 splash a white and a few other Marans hens. The black roo from Greenfire eggs was lost to infection from a fight, in November. I need quality replacement Roos. I'd like to barter, My proposal is one dozen chicks after he's had 2 weeks with his girls. Obviously, I'd like birds from Ohio. I'm between Cedar Point and Cleveland. I am going to Meyers hatchery next week for equipment I need, so a meet up is possible. I'd pay to ship the first batch of chicks from your roo. You could have another dozen after I have time to collect and hatch a batch for myself, but then shipping would be up to you.
Does this seem like a good deal to anyone? If so, let me know. I know someone out there has to have healthy well red extras. This would be a chance to get cross breeding into a line.

Also, if anyone is looking for a few chicks to raise, I've got 2 incubators going. They are mostly cross bred brown egg laying hens to either the legbar roo, or a dark brama roo. So you'll get brown and olive egg layers. I ask $2 per chick.

My 2 coops are 30ft apart, what i was wondering is if both coops are in lockdown how I can try to prevent any contamination from my boots from one to the other in freezing temps. I have one pen for injured or sick birds but it is in my larger coop. Waiting to see how far the flu spreads before I order chicks.
