I had one cockerel that I gave to my family farm. That was before I butchered. Now, I would just butcher any cockerels I had. Sorry I couldn't really helpHey everyone. I was just wondering, how easy is it to rehome cockerels/roosters in NE Ohio? I have a couple of hens who keep going broody and one day (probably in spring) I was thinking of just caving and giving them some hatching eggs. But then there's the cockerels, which I can't have here in Cleveland. I wouldn't want to hatch them if it's gonna be too hard to rehome. I would say we could eat them but they will probably be crowing before they are at good eating size.
Anyway, let me know your experience with rehoming cockerels in NE Ohio.
I want more guineas their ability to feed on ticks is exceptional. I was having a bad time with ticks, getting them on me all the time but six weeks ago I let them free range, haven't had a tick on me since. They follow me all around the yard. I have got so attached to them.
The biggest problem we have here is with deer ticks, they bury deep I had to dig to China in my leg last year, then go to get tested for Lyme. Sorry to hear about you uncle Becky.
