OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Congratulations on your eggs Mark! How exciting those first eggs are. I always thought guineas were so loud. My friend had a flock of them raised from babies. The first time he let them free range he was working in the garden and when he turned around they were all gone never to be seen again. I think they went on to greener pastures, lol. He was not a happy camper.
Yes, they are loud. I feed mine on the porch and they wake me up every morning to get feed. They also make good watch dogs, they don't bark at me but when my neighbors come over they start barking.

They have to supply the correct paperwork so you can get your permits. Speaking only for what I know about Ohio. The states still dictates weather you need a federal permit. If you want to check it out, go to the State of Ohio fish and game website. When they clip the toe the hatcheries are covering their rear end. I had a permit years ago when I raised wild ducks and you only needed a State permit, Federal wildlife laws have changed since then If the game warden in your area comes out to give you your state permit he will tell you if you need a federal permit. From what I understand you can own so many of each species but you can't sell them without a federal permit. I will advise you to talk to your game warden in your area before you buy any wild birds. To be safe know the laws ahead of time. There are so many ins and outs it is best to check all things out in your own state. The federal government will not even issue you a permit unless you have a state permit first.
Thanks Mark. I will stick to the hatchery ones as it sounds like a lot of work to get the wild ones and my new babies act like they are wild for sure being a Mallard Runner and a Fawn and White Runner. lol

Good morning all. 4:30 is a little early for me, what the heck were you guys doing up at that time?
I drive a school bus so I am up at around 3:45. When I have extra time before leaving I get on here for a few and then head down the road by about 4:50. Some people think I am third shift with those hours instead of a daytime worker. lol

School bus drivers: the under thanked crowd. Same with us lunch ladies
