OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

If you guys don't know them, I have to mention Sunnyside Up Micro-Farm in Brunswick: http://www.sunnysideupmicrofarm.com/

Jill and Lloyd are wonderful people, with absolutely lovely chickens :) They start with the best bloodlines they can find, and are continually working to improve their stock. Their prices are very reasonable for hatching eggs (some of the rarer breeds are a little pricy). The coronation sussex and barred cochins I just hatched out are both from there, and I had excellent development and hatch rate :)

Specifically on the BCMs, their stock is Wade/Presley bloodlines. Been hankering for some of them myself!

FYI they have an auction going on ebay right now for 10+ BCM eggs

AUGH! Don't tell me that! I have thirty chicks in my bedroom and four still in the incubator!

I keep going to their breeds page and drooling, mentally making out my spring shopping list...

So...now I'm on the hunt for some Copper Marans pullets to brighten up my egg cartons. Kinda silly that I'm looking for them in the dead of winter, I know, but I would love for them to be laying by the beginning of summer (or before). Anyone in the Central Ohio area with any for sale??
I've got a bunch of BCM that just hatched Christmas Day. It is a little too soon to tell sex yet, but I can sell you several pullets when I can tell. I am in western OH (Darke County) but could meet you somewhere.

I may come knocking for some BCM pullets too. We are in Shelby County so not too far.

Anyone interested in some Silver Penciled Plymouth Rock chicks this Spring? We homeschool and want to hatch some out as a project but I am planning on some new breeds this Spring so I don't really want to keep the chicks. They are Dick Horstman show stock and really big and beautifully marked. Would be open to trades for Blue, Jubilee or Lavender Orps, Marans or Speckled Sussex. Posting here first as I don't really want to mess with shipping them.

Hi Heather--Please put me on your "BCM Pullet-Waitlist!" I'm down to one BCM hen and absolutely love her eggs--debating whether to buy day old chicks and then raising them till they are old enough to sell cockerels and extra pullets (if I'd be that lucky!)...if you'd happen to end up with extra girls I'd be interested....otherwise, back to plan B!
Thanks,

Dawn

ketcham- I always save some dry leaves in the fall. I throw some into the run when we have snow to help coax the girls out for a little while. Has worked every time.
