OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Fyi. TSC in Loveland Ohio on Montgomery road has a great selection of older checks for $1 each. Good selection and they are separate from the day olds.
Yet, I think you may be the first person I have seen that is close to me on here. I was starting to think I was the only one. I need to talk my husband into letting me get some more chicks and head over there.

That's not far from me, probably about 1/2 hr. I'm in west Chester. Well technically liberty township but about the same, except I can have chickens and west Chester you can't.

Hi everyone

I'm in Miami Twp - Milford, OH - suburb of Cincinnati. I'd like to start raising chickens. Looks like I'm not really zoned for it (need 5+ acres of land first - boo), so that's my first obstacle.

I am in need of a coop for my 6 Delaware chicks. My husband and I both like to build, but with 3 kids and him in Afghanistan...I don't think I will be able to. Everywhere I find around that sells coops are asking $500+ for small cheaply built coops. Anyone know of someone around the Dayton/ Xenia/ beavercreek area that can build a coop for a reasonable price or am I stuck building it solo?
We just bought one we found on Craigslist from a carpenter in Moraine/West Carrolton area. $280 and it is awesome! We're bringing it home tonight so I'll try to upload some pics tomorrow. Very well made and it would be perfect for 6 and then some. Here's the link if you're interested. http://dayton.craigslist.org/grd/3700693470.html

Curious how everyone's hens are laying now that we are getting more daylight. Mine are seriously dragging their tail feathers. 0-2 daily from 10 hens and one of those is always a RIR egg and we only have 2 of them. Is it time for the Happy Hen Retirement Home or should I still be waiting it out?

I checked this out. Wow, what a great deal. Just need to add some ventilation to the top and maybe a window. I wish I lived closer, as I need Coop#2 soon. Very soon.

Mine are laying great. How old are yours and where are they from ?

Mine are also laying great!
I have 10 that are actually laying (2 broody)
I get anywhere from 7-9 per day.
My chickens are just about 1 year.
Got the first batch on April 5th and the second batch on April 25.
