Woohoo!!! My very first eggs!!!

Woo hoo! My extra BLRW cockerels were processed this morning as much as I hated to let them go for meat. I kept the sole pullet I hatched and one of the dark blue cockerels. I thought the pullet was black at first but I'm thinking she is a really dark blue now. I'm going to take some photos of the pair this weekend and see what everyone thinks. Those boys better taste good considering what I paid for the eggs they came from plus feeding them for 16+ weeks!

Yeah, all his clothes are in there. I'm thinking about putting it in my daughter's room because he doesn't go up there. Hehe. Waiting for two more eggs from today and then starting it up.

Advice from you great wise hatchers out there?... Day 23 on my serama eggs and still nothing. Never any pips, never saw egg movement.. I couldn't resist any longer and candled a few minutes ago and saw no movement in any of the remaining 5..no beaks jutted into air cells..no sounds.. So sad since 4 of the 5 were moving just a few days ago[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]. Are they most likely dead? Not that I'd be surprised if none made it, but 0/15 is pretty disheartening.[/FONT]

Just snuck 6 silkie mix eggs in the incy to check fertility. If they hatch I am going to try a test shipment. So if anyone is interested in some let me know. Ill be able to send 8 eggs. They will be either 3/4 silkie or 1/2 silkie. Cant remember what they are mixed with. One is a pure white silkie. The roo is half silkie and pure black. The other hen is half silkie and blue laced.

you know me, ive always got 2 cents to put in. first question, where they shipped eggs, and did you incubate them on their sides?

in your defense, ive never heard of anyone getting divorced over sneaking chickens in the closet.
