Advice from you great wise hatchers out there?... Day 23 on my serama eggs and still nothing. Never any pips, never saw egg movement.. I couldn't resist any longer and candled a few minutes ago and saw no movement in any of the remaining 5..no beaks jutted into air cells..no sounds.. So sad since 4 of the 5 were moving just a few days ago. Are they most likely dead? Not that I'd be surprised if none made it, but 0/15 is pretty disheartening.
I'd float test them also. Double check for internal pips. Seramas are notoriously hard to hatch! Were these shipped?

i dont have seramas myself, but ive hatched them for a guy who lives around lancaster. with his eggs i typically get 70% for him, but i have noticed a lot of displaced air cells. if they are shipped and incubated on their sides, you will have problems by my experience with them.

another little trick, put them in the warmer area of your incubator, or if your using a brisnea run your temp to 100-101 degrees. they seem to do better.

Thanks guys. Yep, they were shipped. Candled upon arrival and only had 2 detached air cells. One of those reattached and was alive at day 18. And yep, they have to be laid sideways in this little thing, I manually turned 3-5 times every day. Had 2 thermometers in the bator (the little brinsea mini)..the one that came with was reading 101, extra I stuck in read between 99-100. I had heard seramas were tougher to hatch but wanted to give it a shot as I want some so durn bad. :p Should have stuck to basic locals first time around. Now I'd just be happy to see anything hatch out. Don't happen to have any spares not going in the bator still eh Brian? ;) LOL.

Just snuck 6 silkie mix eggs in the incy to check fertility. If they hatch I am going to try a test shipment. So if anyone is interested in some let me know. Ill be able to send 8 eggs. They will be either 3/4 silkie or 1/2 silkie. Cant remember what they are mixed with. One is a pure white silkie. The roo is half silkie and pure black. The other hen is half silkie and blue laced.
I didn't have any luck on my last shipped eggs, so I would be willing to try again. Plus I love silkies =)

. i am getting ready to set one tray, i have more than i need for that; what are you looking for?

Float tested, by the way. Floated where I had air cells marked, seemingly viable. Doesn't account for the fact they could be late dead, of course. Tried to get them very still in the water but couldn't distinguish any movement (bobbing, ripples, etc) other than the faint swaying of the water. I'll leave them in a couple more days I guess before eggtopsies but looks like they're goners.
