OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

I lied, only 3 cream legbar boys. How many pullets did you end up hatching from your choc orp eggs?
Your still have my cockerel and pullets from the legbars?

The chocolate orp eggs turned out 5 split black boys and zero pullets! I've got 4 eggs from someone else growing in the incubator. I'm hoping some of those are pullets!

Today my sweet little cochin bantam coconut got her head stuck and broke her own neck. I am pretty sad over it. We never name out chickens because we eat them and try not to get attached. I knew we would never eat our bantams Matey and Coconut so it seemed safe to fall in love with them. Not only am I heartbroken but poor little Matey won't leave the back of the darkest egg box she had been there all day since her pal died. I am not even sure what I should do... Anyone have a young bantam pullet they would be willing to part with?

I've put ivomec on every single chicken and over half of the ducks today! Took me 3 hours...I've got to do the call ducks tomorrow and the three Pekin girls and I'm done! O take that back, I had escapee that i haven't found yet and one black hen that evaded me all day. I'll get the black hen tomorrow and hopefully the escapee will show up without greeting eaten overnight... Someone wanted to be a ham for the camera too.

If anyone remembers about a month ago when I posted pictures of the chick I had that was almost dead from cocci, that is her above. I think she made a nice recovery!

she looks excellent, you have done a great job.

welcome back inkheart.

crossing my fingers here, we had a power outage yesterday (until about 1 this morning). all my replacement chicks were in this hatch. if it doesnt do well i wont have much at the swap - i still have some to bring.

Did you get my PM?

about the rhodebars? if so yes, and im trying to make some room.

several of you have asked me about me black copper french marans. im starting over, the pair i have right now needs a large area to run. they are in "breeding condition" she is laying, but they break the eggs almost instantly. she lays a decently dark egg, when she first started in the spring it was a 9 on the darkness scale, but a little lighter now. i have $75 in this pair, but due to the egg breaking im willing to take much less - if anyone is interested. they are from bev davis lines.

i also have 5 turkeys for sale, 3 heritage bronze toms, 2 blue slates (might be tom and hen, or 2 toms) they would be great to finish out for thanksgiving.
there is a free pair of exhibition bred dark brown leghorns, she has never laid. not sure if the problem is her or me.
the c.k. whites and c.k. blacks are for sale
a pair + an extra rooster of buckeyes, again from show stock but im starting over. for some reason i get way to many roosters out of their hatchings.

then i have a few mixed breeds that i hatched for someone else and were never picked up. they are about half grown and will be sold for about the cost of the feed that went in them.
