OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Anybody heard anything about how they are handling the swaps at Chillicothe scheduled for this weekend and Lucasville next ? Obviously no birds, but still going forward with them ? I hate to think of the number of folks who haven't yet heard of the ban and get turned away with birds at the gate.

No idea. I was wondering this myself. Hopefully no one travels too far with birds in tow.

Mt Hope has flyers posted everywhere. I watched them turn away 1 guy with chickens & heard about a bunch more. They did the rabbit & livestock sale yesterday, but no birds.

Any Northern Ohioans use sand in their coop? I think it sounds like a great idea but I have concerns. Is it gonna be to cold on chicken feet in winter? Will the poo just freeze to little sand covered rocks? How about wet weather? Yes the coop is dry inside but if the girls come in wet will they just be sand covered?

i live in north east Ohio and do a sand / wood chip combo. It works great for us. Winter time I just use a bit more chips then sand.

Any one in the north east Ohio area in need of a roo please let me know. I HAVE TWO I NEED TO GET RID OF. Both 3months old and very sweet both get along with each other very well. My older rooster will not stand for any other roos around his lady's lol. Wish I could keep them I really do. If interested please message me.
