OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Sounds like a loophole!! Good! So once you get your exception, what kinda chickens have you figured out that you want?

In town, small mini flock, quiet ones or bantam size ones?

I've NOT got an exception, but they will go outside in a couple more weeks, got my 36 inch chickenwire today, two 50ft rolls.

Now to figure out how to get them set up inside of the pup tent........

Must love conflict and lost causes. I want my chickens!

Cheers and good luck!

Yeah Pete, I saw that list too, are you going to ask for a variance for some sharks and rhinoceroses too? And yeah, I saw that they granted variances, if you have room and the coop is far enough from the neighbors, and if you know your neighbors well enough so they'd sign a letter saying they don't mind you having hens etc, I bet it would help your chances. There's always hope anyway. To me it looked like they added that last line as an afterthought! Some board member got a wild hair I bet! I thought it was odd that they have wording in one section implying that chickens are ok, then forbid them that way in another.

Hey everyone! I just wanted mention that I have a listing under the "everything else for sale" category. Its for our Irish Wolfhound named Sampson. Check it out if you are looking for a great dog as a pet!

I figure I would ask for a Rhino or Tiger but talk them down to a couple of chickens

I'll talk with the person in charge and gauge their reaction I suppose. I'll let them know what I plan on doing, show them some different coop plans and let them know that my neighbors are supportive of the ideas. I have really good neighbors all around me so I don't think that would be a problem. They are used t my eccentric projects..lol. I have a larger yard than is typical in my area so space isn't a problem. I would be able to put a coop more than 50+ few from any dwelling if need be.

I haven't decided on what breed yet but I'll investigate more when I get the go ahead. I would still have to build a coop and figure out the best location first.

Thanks again for everyone's help so far. I'll let you know how it turns out

I saw a listing that stated that Cleveland you are allowed to have up to six hens - i am not sure if that is the city limits or covers the county itself - let us know - i am curious as i am from Rocky River and lived in Lakewood before moving away!

Strictly Cleveland only. Lakewood is a NO for sure... As well as Rocky River.
