OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

They are all so cute cluckitall ! Love those fuzzy feet ! And the cats swarming the incubator are cute. Boy they dont miss a noise do they ?

Blessedchick - cant wait to see pics. The showgirl hatchlings are always adorable - but I feel like they would love a turtle neck sweater to wear LOL

Thanks, everyone! I'm thoroughly enjoying them -- they're so cute!

Need to get better set up for big hatches/multiple breeds, though. I've got them in two brooders now so they have a bit more room, but I'm having to get creative with feed/water dishes -- need to get more!

So...now I'm on the hunt for some Copper Marans pullets to brighten up my egg cartons. Kinda silly that I'm looking for them in the dead of winter, I know, but I would love for them to be laying by the beginning of summer (or before). Anyone in the Central Ohio area with any for sale??

If you guys don't know them, I have to mention Sunnyside Up Micro-Farm in Brunswick: http://www.sunnysideupmicrofarm.com/

Jill and Lloyd are wonderful people, with absolutely lovely chickens :) They start with the best bloodlines they can find, and are continually working to improve their stock. Their prices are very reasonable for hatching eggs (some of the rarer breeds are a little pricy). The coronation sussex and barred cochins I just hatched out are both from there, and I had excellent development and hatch rate :)

Specifically on the BCMs, their stock is Wade/Presley bloodlines. Been hankering for some of them myself!

Is there anyone in Hilliard area? do I have to get permit to have couple chickens in my backyard? we have a nice sized yard with big fence, and I like to get 3-4 chickens this year, ...Thanks for replay...
