Hi, we're from western Licking county (northeast of Columbus); we have 32 chickens of various breeds, sexes, sizes, and colors,,2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 guinea pigs (one is pregnant).

hi chicknmania...
my husband and I just moved outside of granville. we are in a subdivision with 2.5+ acre lots... one of the reasons to move out to the 'country' was to have a few chickens and honeybees... I have been searching online to find out regulations and haven't found out anything I understand clearly. we are in union township... do you know what the restrictions are for us? thanks!

Hi! I live in Granville township. I know there are rules in the village but the township isn't as restrictive. Not sure about union township but your subdivision could have rules all its own.

My FIL was 'antsy' last time he was here, so I've got a box built! We were going to wait a few more weeks...like I'd love the beginning of March..but even ordering when I did I had to change a few that I wanted (I REALLY wanted GLRW!!) I was either looking at early FEB (with changes) or LATE April. I wanted them to be a lil more grown before winter settled in..so we changed it up! My kids seem slightly excited...but I'm sure that will grow immensely once that box arrives!! I was almost GIDDY last night!

thanks for posting! when we bought the property we did some research and discovered that the deed restrictions for the subdivision were never recorded! the developer gave us the go ahead... but, I wanted to make sure there weren't some township restrictions. if we do get some hens, do you usually have to have the coop inspected? or is that more of a city thing?
