Help if I mentioned this, I live in Adams county Ohio. I can be in Cincinnati in an hour, NKY in an hour and a half, and Maysville, KY in 45 minutes.

I'm currently raising snowy and grey call ducks, Pekins, and a bunch of mutt EE's.

I've got BLRW, salmon favorelle, EE, Phoenix/Sumatra mix, porcelain d'uccle, Swedish flower, a sole Icelandic chick, Ancona ducklings, Crele polish, frizzled polish, a sole mille fluer cocoon chick, and lord knows what else!

The polish and Swedish flowers are so tempting. Hmmmm. How old are they?

I did it. I just ordered my little brinsea incubator. (Thank you mlaff for the coupon code!) Did I just sell my soul to the chickens? LOL

lol I have a brinsea, only used it once... didnt have great results...1 of 7 hatched.... and it hatched on day 19.
Would much rather use a broody, but I have none at this time and got a great price on some cream legbar eggs.
So I am giving it a try again!!!!

Wuh-oh. Hopefully we both have luck with it this time around. I'd much rather use a broody too, but my gals aren't laying yet *fist shake in coop's general direction* and almost all are little bantams. Can't imagine sneaking in some big ol' NN eggers under their little bottoms hehe. Fingers crossed!

Hi everybody! I feel like I've been gone forever -- I know it hasn't actually been that long, just feels that way. It's been busy!!! Got woken up by the wind about an hour ago and was worried about coops blowing over so had to go check on everyone. All safe and sound, yay!

I started with a little homemade styrofoam incubator that held eight eggs. It did great, so I built a bigger one. Keeping temps even in that was a little more problematic, plus I was hatching shipped eggs, which is always more challenging. Finally I remembered I had a perfectly good wine refridgerator with no wine in it, so gutted that and put in two turning racks. It's not quite ideal either, but does pretty well. Just locked down some crele and chocolate LF orps today, yay! I hope they do well

Anybody else having really odd egg-laying recently? Some of my breeds have slowed to a trickle this week (including the isbars, dang it) while the seramas have suddenly started laying like crazy. And I got my first-ever basque egg yesterday morning, whee!!! Still waiting on the durn coronation sussex -- the silly things eat and eat and grow and grow, but nary an egg have I seen yet! I almost don't care, they're so big and pretty Still need to do another round of picture-taking soon...


Too cool! I'm going to have to poke around, see if there's something similar for Ashland/Richland coutines.


Yay, brussbars!!!!   Oh, and you mentioned something about a swap   As soon as I've got more than one Rhodie hen laying, I'll give a shout! She's doing well though and is proving very reliable, but dang, I can't wait for Goldie and Specks to join her!

So I woke up to 4 pipped eggs this morning! Ah!

it is already a better hatch than any of my last 2 and it is t even hatch day yet.

That is great! Can't wait to see pictures once they are all hatched!

Lol there will be a ton. I'm trying to keep myself busy and not watch the incubator like its a tv. Lol now I just hope that the ccl eggs start early too.

Hi everyone! Well I think that the Silver Campine chick that I hatched is a rooster.

I would love to get one Silver Campine hen and make a pair. Does anyone have a Silver Campine pullet that they would like to sell or know anyone that does? Thanks!

Number 1 is out! I can already tell the difference with this hatch. It isnt as slimy looking as the two that hatched last time. Hopefully I wilk get to see one hatch.

That's so wonderful! I'm hoping a few of my silkies will prove to be serial broodies -- that's what I got them for! And to be cute -- they excel at being cute
