What a beautiful bird! I could get hooked on those....
beautiful birds! now i have envy, i wonder how many more my wife is going to let me have.
That is actually one of the pullets. Stoic is gorgeous and very colorful but not terribly thrilled with me and my camera. Doesn't try to attack, just runs away. I'll snap a decent one soon and post it tho. Thought he had wry tail but his tail is just so big and featherful he has a hard time holding it up all the time! LOL Another cool thing I noticed today, their black doesn't have a green sheen but rather a blue one! And the green legs are striking too. Very happy to have come across these.Love the pictures! That's Stoic, right? He has so much personality in his appearance. I bet he's a real character!
Would anyone be interested in Pekin ducklings, call ducklings, polish, and sfh chicks at the swap?
I've got one lonely Icelandic roo...he needs friends if someone knows where i can find some pullets.
I'm jealous chickawawa!
Can't wait to see pictures of Stoic! The pullet is adorable! I just visited the Black Earth Farm facebook page. Looks like a really interesting place. I like their mantra, "get dirty!" I am all about that! Athens is about a 3 hr drive from me. I'm closer to Cleveland and Akron, in NE Ohio. That is actually one of the pullets. Their parents are from Black Earth Farm near Athens. Have you heard of her loveourbirds? That's not all that far from you is it?
I love this little pullet. I have short, black hair and it looks exactly like that when I get up in the morning!
Quote: I kept trying to find Mottled Javas (wanted a preservation project) with no luck and just happened across an ad for the Icies. Had researched them before and love the whole history of the landrace breeds so I changed my mind pretty quickly and got ahold of the breeder. Going to have to clip wings or put up a higher fence on their run tho! One was out all night but thankfully back this morning and a different one was free ranging in the tall grass when I went out this morning.
I really want to see your Isbar! Beautiful birds.
