OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Bought the rhodebar pair and eggs off a guy in Russellville. The CCL's came from mlaff. I can give you his name and number for the guy in Russelville. He has tons of cream legbars and a few rhodebars for sale right now.

Welcome the the Ohio neighbor hood!! Not too far from you! Lots of knowledgeable & nice folks on here. Would like to invite you to the Swap that Stevens21 has organized. It is going to be sept 7 at Mt. Orab. Good time to meet and see what breeds everyone has! I will not be bringing anything this time, but will most definitely be bringing something home!

Did you make it up to the Caesar Creek Sunday ?

Sure! I would be interested. Thanks.

I'm going to figure out if I have any of the sex link egg layers left and ill let you know so you can tell your friend. Figure I really don't need them because I will be overloaded with new babies soon. Hehe. At least I hope. I can't wait til those polish start laying as well as my Millie leghorns. Ill be swimming in cuteness soon enough. Guess ill need a new incubator. A bigger incubator and more brooders to handle what will happen next spring.

I am going to rephrase, I traded the pair of lavender orps for the pair of rhodebars but I bought the eggs. Hoping to get a bunch of cute rhodebar babies in 21 days!

what do you do with all your chickens? Do you just collect, or do you show most of them? I did read on an earlier post your DD shows in 4-h. Or do you do a little of all!

No, I didn't.

I was afraid by the time we got there, most would be gone. I thought about it though. I was going to send our friend there, but I don't think he has a suitable shelter set up for any chickens yet. Are they only once a month or weekly?
2nd and 4th Sunday of the month, through Sept. I believe.

I do a little of both. I want to show several times next year but this year I was thinking of taking my porcelain d'uccle to the lucasville show in October. They will be 16.5 weeks then and I am afraid maybe to young. I am not sure what is acceptable by the show committees as the appropriate age to start showing them. Anyone who knows I would greatly appreciate the information. Figure the choc orps and the choc wyandottes can be shown AOV. The swedish flowers are most likely never going to be accepted as an APA breed. The BLRW are in the process of getting accepted over the next couple years thanks to Foley. The D'uccle, black orps, salmon favorelle, and BBS ameracaunas are showable. The choc AM's are a project that could be AOV. Oh and the CCL's and the rhodebars will possibly get accepted by the APA but I doubt it will be anytime soon.

You never know with me either, I might get a wild hair and sell them all at bargain basement prices when one makes me mad too! I tend to be short fused with the chickens and they all stay or the all go.
