OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

There is a guy on FB with Mottled Houdans that look really interesting. I have a hard time resisting anything mottled for some reason. Anyway, what would I get if I crossed the Mottled Houdan roo on one of my Silkie girls? I have a splash, a blue and a black.

Thanks!

We are picking up our goats tomorrow but I may try to make it to the Troy Swap before then. Really liked the Buff Orps I got there in the Spring.

I an actually excited for these black silkies eggs to hatch! The first one is due on the 30. I just can't wait to see what kind of chicks they produce. In hoping for vaulted skull and correct toes. Praying for pullets.

Everyone sure they don't need some SFH roos or Pekin ducks or Ancona drakes? I'll cut a heck of a deal...

I have a question for you blessedchick. Do all show girls have the nn with the little top knot? I love that look. Do you have an idea what yours are going to look like? What color? As you can see, I'm very excited!!

Yup! They all have nn (with a bowtie on some) with the floofy silkie crest. The approved breed term for them is "Naked Neck Silkies" so that should be the standard to judge them from.

This group will be a surprise when it comes to color! l had my dark blue showgirl hens in with a blue silkie roo, black silkie roo and a black SG roo. One of the girls, Beyonce, tosses out an occasional white, but the majority are blues and blacks. They should start hatching tomorrow, God willing, and I will keep you up to date on what appears. Christmas in September!

I am not so patiently waiting for dh so I can go to Caesar creek. I'm really hoping for some laying silkie pullets to add in with my paint roo.

If you don't find anything I have three really nice ones (blue, black and splash) I am taking to the Delaware swap. They are a late June hatch.
