I lost Doug, our EE roo that had gotten heat stroke and I had one mystery death of a chocolate Wyandotte rooster. I had a Guinea come down with pneumonia but its all better now. Thrilled that your back though! Don't let people get to you. Tell them to stuff it.

Yay! Several of us were talking at the Delaware swap about how much we missed you being "here". Glad you could work everything out!

No losses here. Just additions thanks to Cluckitall's exuberance for Rhodebars! Got 4 of hers and added 4 Marraduna Basque as well!

glad all of you are doing well, and thanks for the "welcome back". i did miss you guys!

as for the move, not yet - we just got the land cleared. the mobile home is ready to be moved, the septic lines and water lines are ran. i was hoping to get everything started last weekend, but we had a death in the family and it kind of held things up. things are back on track now, tomorrow i think im going to go down and dig the holes for the barn and put the mail box in.

on a side note, if anyone is interested there are 2-2 acre lots for sale next to the land i bought, water, septic and driveways are already in. if i remember right its $2000 down and $230 a month if you follow their payment plan. im kind of hoping some chicken lovers buy them :D .

You will love the rhodebars. I love mine, the chicks and the older pair both.

Brian, I forgot to say I did add 2 more icelandics and 3 silkies to the group from chickawawa. I was bad and bought 19 more silkie eggs from little ameraucana mom today. I've been putting the eggs from my pair into the fridge since yesterday. Once I am done with what's in the incubators and these silkies then I am done hatching till at least March. With Josh being gone so long it is going to be hard to take care of the flock as it is. I really needed another grow out pen built but with him leaving on a day notice it didn't get done. I was looking at the pallet and cattle panel shelters. I have the t post, they just need pulled up and I can get the pallets from work. the only thing I do not already have are the bolts and the tarp. I can buy those and I think between me and my parents/friends we can assemble this thing in a day. It says it ends up being 10X10 which would be perfect to move some birds into so they can have more room to move around.

minihorse - do you have a horse trailer? i have put chickens in the one i had until i could get a place built. the pallet idea sounds great too, i keep thinking about using some pallets to help me move to the new property. i have 14 sheets of metal 12 feet long i could use for roofs im thinking of wrapping the inside with poultry netting and outside with plastic so i can take my time reassembling the barn when i put it back up im putting two lean too's off of it. i have some honey locusts i need to cut down, im thinking of using them for posts for some kind of large grow out pen.

I do have the horse trailer. It has an open back once you get above the ramp gate but it could be covered over for the winter pretty easily. I have gave it some thought and I still need a little more room than what the 2 horse trailer provides. Mainly my older roos are picking on the less dominant breeds and I don't want anyone to bullied this winter.

Turns out it was the alpaca folks that moved. Llama folks weren't home except for their autistic (20+) son, so DH tries to round up the llama with him. Seems he wants to be a Drama Llama, though, so he'll be adventuring until the folks get home. Strangely made my day. LOL.

The next time I join any website, that's going to be my new username, lol! Can I steal it? "Drama Llama", I LOVE IT!!!

LOL. Only if you use one of these gifs as your avatar! (I kid, I kid) :

Thankfully no losses due to weather here! Even the young seramas are coping well.
