Ever feel like you've bitten of more than you can chew? I do. I'm about to sell out of most of these birds...

I'm feeling the same way lately.with all that's going on right now in my life, I don't have time to spend with my chicks. Really have been debating on getting rid of most of them.:(

Sometimes things seem to get that way. I'm not saying our chickies are stuff, but sometimes we get to the point when we realize instead of us having control of our stuff, they have control over us. It can cause undo stress in our life, so if downsizing is what you need to do to ease stress in your life, go for it. Life is too short! You can always replenish your flock when things calm down. I'm feeling a little stressed over my flock because my flock is so many different ages, It's hard to keep them housed and separated. It takes some of the fun out of having them. Dh and I were discussing just last night about what type of grow out tractor to build. I have the ones I got from you in our tractor, but as it gets cooler, they are going to have to have a little more shelter. It's fine right now for them, but when I get the sg & silkies from blessedchick, I will have to have something to put them in when they out grow the brooder tank. Then in nov I'm to get 3-4 buckeye pullets from pathfinders, but I think I'm just going to put them right in with the others. It stresses me out just thinking about it. I like to do things right, so I always quarantine my new ones, but they may not get it this time.

I drove by today on the way home from the parents' just to see how bad the crowd was (since it wasn't "officially" open today) but didn't have time to stop, wish I did! It was pretty busy already. Gahm's (the car parts place across the road that uses their yard as a parking area for the swap) was already half full..that's a lot of folks. I'll be going first thing in the morning, though! Before the sun rises! I feel tired already..lol.

In other news, I ate my first homegrown egg tonight! Well, sort of.. from that same faverolle group I bought last weekend. Since it was too late to set, I was going to crack it and check fertility, but the blastoderm was indistinguishable, so I just fried 'er up. It's been so long since I've eaten an egg, I forgot how good they are!
Also, I updated the Frankenchicky and Derpy Diaries thread with good and bad news earlier today, if anyone cares.

I'm going to be there early too! Wanted to say a happy and sad night tonight. The last eggs of the season went into the incubator. Now just to wait on them to hatch!

Good luck!! I think these 2 faverolle tester eggs might be my last ones for a while, too, since DH is throwing fits over my chicken-spending, eggs included. Here's to hoping these two are fertile.

May see ya tomorrow!
