Put 7 blue laced red wyandottes in lock down today 2 hatched. These eggs were shipped from Texas started out with 14 and will probably only have 3 hatch. Setting 20 in lock down tomorrow that was shipped from Kentucky. Hoping to have better luck with this bunch.
im with you on how to set the barter amounts. for goods versus goods, you could go with a mutually decided price.
as far as labor versus goods, i guess it would be up to the person doing the labor; and what the job entails. for instance, if one of you needed help building a chicken coop that i could help you do and finish in a day - i would probably barter for a lot less (per hour) than if i was helping you build a barn that could take a month.
i have not bought firewood for anything more than a campfire when we were on vacation. i know it gets expensive fast to cut it, split it, haul it, and pay labor. i cant remember the measurements of ricks and cords either. i remember a rick is 4 feet high, and i think its 18 inches deep, and i question 8 feet long. hopefully one of you can shed some light on this for me, also how much does a cord go for.
ok, a quick funny story:
my oldest daughter just informed me that she had bought a pumpkin pie. she said it didnt taste right, but i could have some. DW chimed in with "it tastes bad because she didnt let it thaw." it took me about 2 seconds to realize they had bought a frozen pie, and started eating it without cooking it.
and they say im a bad cook!
