OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

big medicine I thank you for paying it forward. the feathered feet are safe now, was rather cute first two days. welcome to the thread dezlwezl! wapakoneta here.:)

This chicken addiction just got worse. My little broody Silkie experiment was a success...4 out of 5 eggs were hatched last Monday by this content little mama. Looks like Big Sexy (dd named our cockeral) is a daddy.
We have 3 pure BBS Copper Marans babies and an Olive Egger running around---funny thing is, three of them are nearly identical but one is an Olive Egger for sure, the last one with the very cool markings came from a dark brown Marans egg, we saw her right after she hatched. Has anyone seem a Marans baby marked like this?

And all four arrived with feathered legs!

In the meantime I have 17 more chicks in the brooder in the big coop...Pure English Lavender Orpingtons, Chocolate Orps., Light Sussex, and REAL BBS Ameraucanas! Have a feeling I'll be selling some extra boys in a few weeks if anyone's interested...

I have a problem...I'm addicted to chickens.

So, my Ohio chicken friends, I'm trying to find some Easter Egger or Copper Maran pullets for sale around my area. I'm in the Dayton/Western Ohio area. Anyone have any suggestions??

Can't help with the pullets, but

and to the Ohio Thread!! That chicken math can get the best of you!!! I call it the chicken addiction!!! I love have chickens around. Gives a sense of calm in a crazy world. I am up to 31 at this time. That's about all we can handle right now, but the more I see pics of chicks, the harder it is to resist. I haven't been in TSC. I'm trying not to go in there because I'm too weak!!!

Have fun!!!

my main breed I am hunting for yet this year are blue jersey giants. I have to wait a few weeks before I start to look seriously. brooding chicks now, new run needs started, cans need to be recycled to fund the coop build. talk about irons in the fire.and my list keeps growing thanks to the rain we keep getting. April showers and all that, flowers are looking good so far. but the swamp by my coop thanks to our well incident really made the list bigger. may put my son and his Saturday night barn buddies to work if I can bribe them with some food and guilt. Thank God for these kids! they really chip in here at times.the Hubby's brothers and buddies helped with the last coop and asking now when to start the next n last one. I have a chicken limit unless I can invade part of the pole barn. :)please excuse my excess chattiness.
