Hello,
I just got back from the Ross co. Ohio swap and had to bring my 6-8 week old, 7 silkies and 1 showgirl back home because few people came! In April I took 2 showgirls and 5 silkies and they were gone an hour after getting there. I have one porcelain, two blue, one partridge, one showgirl, one white bonett head hen. It looks like the babies are 3 porcelain, 3 partridge, 1 white, and 1 showgirl for sure! Anyone interested? Pickup only.

You should take a Sunday drive up to Delaware tomorrow--our local feed store, Champion Feed, is hosting a poultry and tack swap from 12-4pm...no idea what kind of turnout there will be but the one they held last fall did quite well I believe. I'd gone only to be tempted (held firm...but was tempted) and there were quite a few sellers and buyers I think, considering it was early October. He's done a lot of advertising and is combining it with the tack (and bunnies too) swap--wider audience.

I'm bringing my (2)12 week old Chocolate Orpington boys, a Light Sussex boy and a Blue Copper Marans boy, all 10-12 weeks old--hopefully won't be bringing them home!
I'm also picking up two Lavender Orpington pullets from the same breeder I got the first two breeds above from (Sunnyside Up Micro-farm) since she will be bringing quite a few of her lovely chicks down, along with some juvenile pairs and trios (check out her Facebook page for details) to go with the cockerel I'd gotten from her with the above-mentioned boys.

I imagine your Silkies would be a hit!

Well we are still integrating the one year olds n my ten or eleven week old bunch. they run together all day with some squabbles but not happy he serious attacks like the bullies did. AMEN! I have yet to get the chicks in the coop and have scratched my head on how I gonna get that done??? close both pens, put scratch down to lead then what?? I most likely will have to put then in one by one.

Well this is strange, Hello?? Everyone must be busy again. Hope you are all well and have happy flocks. The rain coming has my back fired up again so walking is a challenge. Chickens still not pecking like before removal of bullies but Fester needs to age tiny bit more. He is almost the size of my one yr. olds but still runs from them. Oh, question to those who know!!!! When a hen is ready to breed do they flag with their tail to the side??? I know dogs do, and I am seeing this from some of my girls.

I haven't seen them flag. Typically that will squat and lift their wings up when a rooster passes by.

I've been busy with the new position at work (that comes with awesome hours and no weekends)! I got home last night and spent 2 hours cleaning the brooder that was 2 weeks behind on cleaning. Moved the pullets that are a few weeks from laying to the adull barn. Moved the older chicks from nursery to the outdoor brooder. Got some day olds that need moved to the bigger nursery now.
