Hey, new to the backyard chicken world and just found this thread. I'm in NE Ohio by Berlin Lake if anyone knows where that is (about 45min west of Youngstown). I don't have any chickens yet but I just placed an order for 4 buckeye ladies and a Meyer meal maker from Meyer hatchery, I'll be picking them up in the middle of May. I can't wait to start this new adventure!

Good morning to my ohio neighbors i am in Doylestown its close to akron and was wanting some mountain quail really bad does anyone have an idea of where to get some, and has anyone been to rogers auction, and think they might have some? Thanks

Did you check Meyer Hatcheries website? Your probably 35 minutes away from them, if they have them much convenient to pick them up.

I'm not familiar with mountain quail? I'll have to google them.

@Spartan22 I'm about an hour and a half east from them. The funny thing is I had already partially decided to get my chicks from them before I realized how close they were, being able to go pick them up instead of having them shipped is a major bonus!

@naturegeek168 Bonus indeed, got my 13 chicks

a week ago from them (1 1/2 hours drive) they are much more alert and have not gone on any stress at all. My older hens came from Mt. Healthy in Cincinnati by mail, I never had any problem with them, but decided to order close by.

I got 3 Black Australorps, 3 Easter Eggers, 3 Welsummers & 3 French Black Copper Marans (love their dark brown eggs) and yes I got the meal maker Buff Orpington. Unfortunately the 3 Salmon Favorelle didn't hatched
