Do any of you central-ohio folks know where I can buy food-grade diatomaceous earth locally? A friend of mine gave me some that she bought at the Country Variety Store in Bellefountaine, but it is nearly an hour drive for me to get there. Any places in the Delaware, Marysville, Marion, or North Columbus area that you know of off-hand?

I've heard of it being sold at Lowe's.Just make sure it's FOOD GRADE.I haven't looked myself as I bought mine off ebay 50lb bag for $50.Good luck!

I have a friend that takes his extra roosters to be butchered. I can give him a call if you would like.

I'm in Loveland, Ohio. East of Cincinnati in Clermont County. Chillin with my girls: Lucy, Ethel and Maude. Anyone else in my neck of the woods??????? My little ladies are 17 weeks old and I am anxiously waiting for my first egg. I have not bought a single egg egg since they were hatched on 5/9/09. I want my 1st egg to be sooo special. DESPERATELY CRAVING AN EGG.............

I'm about an hour or so from you. My girls never layed an egg until the next year but i happened to pick one of the slowes maturing breeds that there is so you might get one

Okay well I just gave him a call. He wasnt home but his wife was. I asked her where he took them and she said that he sold them to a man out in Delta. He didnt get them butchered but the man in Delta did.

If I find any places that are like meat shops, I will let you know.

Hey Cody - Thanks for trying! When I get over to J&B, I'll ask there. Surely they would have a name to pass on.

How do you "hang" these vegetables? I'm having a hard time visualizing your method.

I was thinking of putting the vegetables in some netting (like what onions are wrapped in at the store).
