OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Congrats!!!!!!! I am a first timer too!!!!! Having a blast!!!!! I live south west of Akron. My grandparents did chickens, but that was a long time ago.My dad has been the one to kind of get me going on this.I find they are quite entertaing at times.Fun to sit a see what they do.I did have a hawk take on off and injure another[she died]but have 10 going strong and getting big.Until it gets warmer out, they are in the garage[utility tub] and a moveable pen[chicken tractor] during the day.Coop to be built soon.More fun to let them run around while I'm outside. I keep pretty close cause of the hawks.I just went inside for a minuite.ERRRR!!!! Have fun!!!!! Kevin

Hi, all! I just found out that chickens are legal here in Medina and will be getting 3 Brahma girls on the 23rd, yay! This is my first time ever with chickens, wish me luck!

Hi all! This thread was suggested to me by another Ohioan

I'm new to chickens, will be picking up my first 6 chicks from Meyers at the end of May, and I can't WAIT!!! I live in Lagrange. I'm pretty sure I've got my brooder figured out and am looking at coop plans now. Luckily husband is VERY handy and I caught him looking at plans this morning as well - lol! He was doubtful at first but I think is slowly getting on board. Some of my family and friends think I'm crazy, but some are almost as excited as I am and can't wait to come see the chicks, so that is nice! Of course ALL of them know I am animal crazy and all feel sorry for my husband

I have 5 Akitas that are my kids (no two-legged kids here!), and I show them as my hobby. I also co-own a couple of Afghan Hounds and a Saluki that I show, but they live with their other owners and only come for visits when I'm doing a show. Nice to see so many other Ohio chicken people, I look forward to learning!!!

Hi neighbor! Good luck! im a newbie as well and am having a ball learning about my Chickens. Chicks have been outside and secure for 2 nights and last night we saw a fox sniffing around. I guess we will find out how secure my coop really is. Enjoy!
