Nice work! I love the Poppy plate-they are my favorite flowers! I haven't been able to do much painting for the last six years, thanks to little ones, but this is one I finished in the last 2 years. I took lessons from a private art teacher for about 6 years after I graduated from high school. I worked in pastels, charcoal, and oils, but oil is my favorite! I miss getting to paint!

You guys are great!! Beautiful paintings, plates, horse, everything!!

Carrie, all the paintings are very pretty but what caught my eye on the 2nd one was how the rosebush stands out since the other colors are more subdude and I think that is beautiful. Where as in the first painting the greens are brighter. And rosebushes are my favorite!

its good you have taken up painting its a truley nice way to unwind and enjoy working with colours.

i know what you mean about perspective. iv been there

. but enjoy painting chooks even when they wont stand still

I can already tell this is going to be another of my favorite threads here on BYC. Every one's work is so beautiful and it's nice sharing our creativity with others. I wish I was home right being just that, creative.

I'll get a series of pictures together from start to finish of my new studio and post on "My Page" and tell the story about. So I'll let you know when I get it together.

Yes, by all means keep the pictures coming!! I love seeing them.

It's amazing how people may be great at painting, but can't draw, and vise versa. I usually have to do some linework first before painting, but I'd like to practice free hand painting

I think i would like one day to learn how to paint a log cabin with lots of standing pines,if i ever find the time.

Here is one I did today, it is a 5x7. I hate my square pond LOL I will do another painting of the same scene and try to correct it. The other is an old shack but I am not finished with it yet.
