Ok how close is too close? Rooster behavioralists?

I'm glad you said this because I was starting to wonder if I should be worried... my nine month old cockerel crows right next to me and mounts the pullets in front of me but gives me zero trouble. I keep hearing that he shouldn't do these things with me around though.

Ditto, I didn't realize it was an issue. My original roo never did anything around me and ten he start coming after my kids. My new roosters do everything around me and are the sweetest things, they never come after me. Now, I do "break it up" if he attempts to mount while literally next to me but usually I just let him do his thing.

I'm glad this is ok.

Interfering with a cock/erel while he's mating is like directly challenging him as if you were a cock/erel and trying to establish dominance, SMH, it's just asking for trouble.
I don't interfere with females when they dominate another bird either.
Unless it's a bloody(literally) fight.

Well..he's a rooster, its what they do. Everyone in the world will tell you this and that..but they are supposed to act that way. Some are a little bit more gentlemanly than others. I have a Landrace and he doesn't stop crowing when I'm out there with them or working near them, or if a leaf falls to the ground..he sounds off. Crowing isn't a challenge, its a 'status check' for the flock. He only lets me about 2 feet from him before he'll find another location to stare and judge me, the little sob has a crow like a drowning hell cat banshee spawn. Makes my ears burn it's so loud. However, he's a great flock rooster and does everything I'd expect a rooster to do with his ladies, I have no complaints. His brother on the other hand was pure devil hell on legs so he was re homed to a farm animal rescue. He liked to posture to everyone but me, I loved it..nobody else found it amusing. I didn't catch the age of your bad boys, but juveniles will act all cray cray for a few months until their wiring evens out. If he makes you feel uncomfortable and you don't like his behavior with your or your flock, simply remove him from the equation. Good chance his kids will act the same way.

The worst I have had this month is the shoulder drop and when I ignore him the shoulder drop wing dance to get my attention. I have plenty more roos than I need and the flock is still intact as the entirety of north american raptors try to strafe them daily as I live in their overwintering ranges.

He just really ambles up into my 1 meter bubble and sits on the border if I am not giving him the respect he feels he deserves. Just out of reach and just barely out of reach. If I can ever catch this "bummer" I plan on eating him and see how the other two roos do.

I just feel like he is consitantantly challenging me personally.

Three roosters and five hens is a little too heavy in the testosterone department. Either isolate, rehome, or get yourself a good Coq Au Vin recipe for the other two. It can even be likely that none of your eggs will be fertile because of interference with the alpha roo when he starts to breed a hen. A rooster crows to attract, establish, hold on to, and defend a harem or breeding territory.

Possibly, but he's dancing for you he might just think you're pretty. ;)

I hate to be so negative just this is the only bird I get a negative "vibe" from. I am not asking anyone for permission to cull nor do I want to justify it. Negative vibes mean a lot as we all know when a good bird is going bad.
@chickengeorgeto I definately have the isolation department covered as I have three tie-outs in the storage shed, I just haven't engraved names on the leashes. I bought them last week 3 for 25 dollars was a great price vs internet pricing and my local AG store.
