Yep those are Golden Comet girlies alright! You'll adore them as a laying breed. They're not the brightest crayons in the box, but they're chickens so they don't have to be. They're also very docile and sociable, I know I can't go into the backyard without them turning it into a parade.
You would know if you accidentally got a roo. These hybrids are designed to mature quickly, so the roo that I accidentally got with my order was crowing by 7 weeks! He also had the most uncomfortable-looking feathering out period I've ever seen. Poor thing.
Since they're hybrids, you get all sorts of different pattern variations on the 'gold' theme. Some are darker, some are lighter, some are half white, some are almost all red.
