OK, it's my turn! ***YAY!!! TODAY WAS THE DAY!!!!!!!***

This is totally irrelevant, but your comment about the roo stepping on the hens made me laugh. I just put two newbie roosters in with my two-year old laying hens, and the first time one of them tried to mount a hen, he got on backwards and fell off. It took him a couple of tries to get turned around and learn how to stay in the saddle, so to speak!

Sorry to hijack your thread, just thought I'd give you a laugh. Hope you get eggs soon...

well... if nothing else you are not alone. I'm not even sure how old my chickens are, so I don't even have a guessing game!

hope you get some eggs soon

It's good to know I am not alone in this crazy 'where are the eggs, girls?' obsession. Even my husband has started to comment that it's about time 'the Feathers' laid some eggs. I have 1BO, 1EE, 1BR that are all 24 weeks old and NOTHING yet (and probably nothing for the next couple of days as the temperature is set to go into triple digits!).

Here's hoping that everyone in the same situation gets their first eggs soon!

Good Luck!

If they are squatting and singing I think it should happen soon. Who knows, you might even get one later today!

I have a gold sex link that was squatting for 2 weeks before I got my first egg on Tuesday afternoon but haven’t got anything since. 2 or 3 of mine were singing the egg song this morning so hopefully there will be one this evening.

I have an EE that looks exactly like your Alma that is 19 weeks old (yesterday) and she is nowhere near as red as Alma is. So I think your EE’s are a lot closer than mine! You have some beautiful girls and a handsome roo too!

Thank you all for your encouraging support! The hens are almost 19 weeks old now. It's been close to 3 weeks since I heard the egg song now. I think I just need to forget about it and concentrate on something else.

Wambesi wha mack ting dink eourogesaseous. Wamboozle!!!!!

You will have a softshell egg before 8:48 AM tomorrow. The egg will not be laid in the nest. The second egg will be perfect and be laid between a feather and a golf ball.

The Great Magilicutty has spoken.
