Still nothing! Alma, who's the reddest and did the stomp dance/egg squat has been checking out the nesting box. She's also making a lot of noise! She's always been chatty, but she's really talking now! She cracks me up!

My LB was almost 21 weeks when she laid her first egg. All of my pullets got really vocal the day they started laying. Not the egg song (although they did that too) but louder than usual bok bokking.

And how come your LB is so darn clean???? Mine is filthy, she loves her dirt baths.

Yesterday Alma squatted for me and let me pet her.

And she was scratching around in the coop......making a huge mess in there. I had to change the water a few times.
Today Pauly definitely mounted her.

It's gotta be the heat that's keeping her from laying. It's been 92 every day this week. I'm so frustrated!

If you look at the first page of the post you'll see pics of my flock. She's an 18 week old EE. She's been very red and sang the egg song three times last week.

OP, dont worry mine was red and squatting and being mounted for 3 weeks before she FINALLY laid at exactly 20 weeks.
And it was great bc we had been checking multiple times a day since she turned red and the ONE DAY we didnt check...is the day she laid... go figure!

But that was last saturday and since then we're up to 5 eggs from her since. The only day she took off was monday! After a week I'm going to take a pic of them all in a bowl (that is if I dont make them for breakfast tommorrow!)

The weather has cooled. The sun is out and there's a gentle breeze.....no more excuses! Make me an egg ladies!

I cleaned out the run today and gave them layer feed for the first time....which they LOVE! I hope this gets them going!
