Aren't muscovy ducks quiet too? They don't quack? I wasnt a fan of their appearance at first, but the noise factor is important to me...
We have chickens now and my girls were considering doing a duck project for 4H next year...but we haven't narrowed down a breed. Just poking around and reading what others think.
Thanks! I believe that too! its just i need to get one that is good for my area. At first I thought I was definitely getting buffs, but then I discovered more breeds and now I'm stuck!!!
Thank you Miss Lydia and Going Quackers. I was thinking "no quacking" with the Muscovy ducks sounded a little "off" which is why I asked. My girls are thinking of doing ducks next year for 4H. Would any of you have any breed suggestions? Like I said, the noise factor is one consideration. We have land, but are still in the city limits, and we can't have anything that makes TOO much noise. We have 3 small bantam hens currently and will probably be getting 2 more over the summer. Suggestions?
I was put off by the Muscovy at first but everyone who owns them seems to love them!
