Here's what Henk said sometime ago in another thread on Deli genetics about db=darkbrown:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=3560180#p3560180

I've got some doozies for the gurus but it'll be later on as am too tired to get into all that tonight. I tried it last night and really made a mess of it all before I got done, so hold onto ya'lls horses for now.

Im gonna find that where I asked before about Barred Columbian and Diluted Barring though, just hang on.

I am in the same boat as Cyn -

regarding the Db and Co - I appreciate the pictures, but since neither of those birds are Delawares, how does it relate to the Del markings? What do you mean by "cleaner"?

Yeah I kinda thought the same thing myself on those pictures too and I'm still gonna get around to posting those doozies on here once I can get settled in for a bit and do it as it takes me forty forevers to get something typed usually by the time aI get it typed out and spell checked as good as I can, my brain has already jumped the fence and high-tailing it to a different zip code. Besides today is water well fixing day as I had mentioned on another post all my undivided attentions need lots of water so it's a must do project for today everthing eles will have to wait 'cept for feeding and shuttling water from my G'mas till i get water back a flowin' here

Ever heard the old sayin' " You don't miss the water till well runs dry" well I'm missing it already and it only happened yesterday

Welp I'm off to fix the the water system. I'm gonna blow it out of the ground with air into a 300 gal. reservoir and plumb that into my existing pump so it doesn't have to work so hard try to draw the water and pressure it all at one time, plus the aeration of the water the air pressure does while forcing it to surface into the holding tank also improves the taste and quality of the water by removing sulfur gases and some of the iron oxides out of the water during the process.

I'm gonna use debs siggy here

CRAPTASTIC and ya'll have a wonderful day too

None of them are Delaware crosses but really, the only visual difference in color is barring.

By cleaner - Notice the one with Db has little to no black in the hackles? Really, the only black is the tail and the primaries. Thus a "cleaner white."

You don't need to have learned genetic-speak to be a successful breeder.

how can that be?

all you need to know is Delawares are based on Columbian

Sorry, still confused. I raise Delawares and they do not look like either of your examples. Are you talking about the clean white/no smut on your examples as compared to the light smut on Heffner's back? (sorry Delgirl)
