I only use a little LED flashlight to candle. I can't much but can
tell the difference between eggs that have started developing
and those that never started (Clear insides).

I candled today....... out of 11 oegb shipped eggs, only 4 are viable and looking good

I added some buff crosses and some bantam eggs of my own a few days later and they all look good....little babies seen....one of the oegb got cracked on top,but I left it in and it has a baby

so........out of about 22 eggs...... 4 oegb and 3 buff and 3 bantam still in bator !

this is day 8 ......... they will be hatching ( hopefully) the day my son comes home from Maryland........ he got stationed in Kansas

If you have 4 viable shipped eggs that is fine. We are all having shipped
egg issues. Your own or local eggs should have a much higher hatch rate.

YOU ARE DOING GREAT!!!!


It's sorta nice to only hatch a few at a time. This way they each get a lot
of attention and become friendly birds. I never want to hatch a big batch
again. I say this as 24 local eggs are settling waiting to go in the bator.

I was thinking of you as I fired up Little Giant #3. It's gonna be the hatcher
for my silkie eggs. Tuesday is DAY 18!!!! Wooo hoooo

aw thanks you guys, Kenneth was more thrilled than I was I think.......
and purple....yea. I am happy with 4 shipped eggs doing good........more excited to see my buff x's come out......they are huge compared
