***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Good morning Okies... I woke up late because I wasn't supposed to be in until 10 (but still leaving at the same time... today is a short day since the counselors are all in a conference down in Norman).

Robin's LF partridge cochins told me what was what since I was late out there to refill their food bowl. Threw them some scraps from making roast (carrot ends and the like). Amazingly enough they find it hard to grumble at me when they're filling their beaks! The coop with all the others in it (they're in quarantine separate from the cochins) were happy to get the leftover salad greens from last night.

Was considering going to Mary's looking for silkies on Saturday but got the reminder email on my phone about my recertification course tomorrow. It's from 8-5 out in Harrah. Bah humbug.

There is a small harware store on Tucker near main street in shawnee, they have all kinds of odd stuff, and can order you a custom window. They are very reasonable. We purchased some over run windows they had for the house we are preparing to start for my sister and purchased what was normal retail over 3K for less than 600.

Rebecca, you might try the Habitat for Humanity store on Broadway in OKC. They sell a lot of recycled and close out materials and the money goes to Habitat for humanity.

I forgot about them, they are a great resource.. many harware and lumber yards donate any custome orders and over runs of stock and you never now what you will find there..

Muesky (Rebecca) did have some.

Me!! Well kind of! I'm just starting on getting really good quality breeding birds! But these are my absolute favorites. Even the Roos are super sweet to people and their girls! I have a very special breeding pair coming down from crossroads. And another (and maybe bantams) coming at the Shawnee show! I'm really excited about these birds

Moving truck was here yesterday and so the house and shop are pretty bare... with all this hustle and bustle with the doors and windows being left open I have never seen so many dang flies in my house...

I better get back to cleaning up the inside of the house...

I just took my Black Copper rooster back to her. I got him as a chick from her. He was beautiful. If he doesn't stay with her, I hope he finds a really good home. He was slightly aggressive. I hope she uses him for breeding, though. We live pretty close to one another.

You're kidding?! Where can I get a few? After my hatchery Silkies (much as I love them) I have no desire to go that route again. I don't care to show and I don't breed but I DO want good quality birds for temperament and looks. That's awesome, Jackie

If you hear of any that you decide not to get, let me know.
