What kind of stuff did you take this time? Are you going to the sale too?

I think Teva and I will sort out some NN roosters to take to Blanchard. The pullets will just increase the layers.

Robin, he's got huge wattles and comb :O
Chicken Larry must still be a baby, he doesn't have any wattles and his comb (which wasn't there a month ago when I got him, mind you) isn't real big. He definitely crows but he's not very good at it. At least he's young. Here's his picture with his hair cut. He had a big pretty round head until I cut it. But he can see now. In the 1st picture he's showing how he can fly.
He's going to have to live inside until I get him his own secluded area, I guess. So he doesn't get sick from the others since he's young, too.
Oh yea-when your Silkie boy molts does his hair come back super thick? Chicken Larry's is so thick and full I can barely find his skin. And he's got hundreds of pin feathers coming in. If this is how thick a Silkie's coat is as an adult then I really like it. The way he feels & looks reminds me of the Blue Smoke Persian I had years ago.

And while we're on the subject of feathers...or fur. Why are Larry's feathers broken off like this? I checked him over with a magnifying glass (literally) for mites or lice plus I dipped him plus I Ivomeced him. His feathers were like this when I got him. Is it from other birds picking at him? He *is a bit of a girly-man. He's molting like crazy now so I hope they fall off and he gets new ones. I want to make sure it's not some sort of feather disease (that'd be my luck).

Oh, weird. Thanks for the answer. My other Silkies don't have theirs broken off like this but they're also only 3 1/2 mo old.
Thank you!
