these little guy are amazing- he has a cockatiel cage and sits next to the window watching all the action, took him out and he promptly snuggled- no attempts at wandering around- so i can contain his 'donations' to a towel...

the other two are in another cage in the studio, since they are used to cages i can just take them out for some playtime outside and bring them back inside in their cage- much easier that way...

meanwhile flo(the silkie) started laying last spring- about two weeks she wanted babies... hatched them out, raised em, went broody again, gave her keets, now tonite she decided time to go broody again! good grief girl take a break!

Michael my thoughts are let them get mad. Money is money & they can bid just as easy as you. Not your fault if you have more to spend. Maybe you need a shirt that says you buy & sale birds. First sale I went to @ cement went with a friend & as you were biddig on stuff she was saying she couldnt imagine what you did with all that stuff & how you were quick to buy anything with a good price. Think she thought you hoard them all.

Thanks, Cuban!

Hey MichealD...I wouldn't worry about those folks. Us who know you, know that isn't the case. How many times have you sold me a bird out of a lot that you just got? A bunch of times...they just needed to follow the auction better and get their hands up.

Went to a meeting last night in Prague about all the earthquakes. There were hundreds of people in attendance. The meeting was supposed to be informational for those who may need assistance for repairs when and if the state gets approval for federal funds.
There were a number of people there trying to blame someone for their losses...oil companies, insurance companies, but not Mother Nature. And there were many whose homes are not livable. I got upset that these people could not get their questions answered because of those arguing with the geologist and the State Insurance rep even after being told by the Prague city manager that this was not the time to resolve that issue.

So I got up and attempted to ask about the timeline for fed assistance, etc. When I could not hear the response from the Lincoln county emergency rep because the blame factions were holding loud discussions around the auditorium, the groups got a piece of my mind. I told them to please take their loud private conversations outside since there were still many of us who wanted answers about our homes and community needs. They did shut up and we finally got the needed information about a timeline for assistance and clarification about property assessments, as well as the go ahead steps to getting repairs completed before processing a claim. The timeline could be 6 weeks to 3 months for some folks.
And We will be having several weeks to months of aftershocks and some could be big ones.

Makes me sad so many are in such worse shape than we are. Our brick outside and our inside walls are still standing and we can stay in our home. We can afford to make the necessary repairs without fed assistance or loans. And our children are grown and on their own. We are blessed.

Just teasing:). BTW, for anyone having problems with chicks eating their bedding, try cleaned sand. It absorbs moisture very well, cuts down on odor very effectively, and is easy to clean, and birds can eat all they want.

Me too, one of the best things about poultry is that there is so much variety.
