nanakat, it's sad how "victimized" our society has become, glad you could bring some common sense to the meeting and get answers for people who need them.
Evening all...haven't checked in a few weeks and man am I behind on reading posts! Getting to sleepy to read them all tonight. Hope everyone is doing well. Been really hectic around here lately and that's why I haven't been able to check in, but hopefully things will start settling down again. I have been getting some nice brown bantem eggs everyday...we just love those little birds and I guess they love us too the way they keep laying even through cold, blustering winds, and earthquakes!
Michael - Those of us who know you can tell the difference between when you are bidding on behalf of someone else and when you are buying for resale. When buying for someone else, you are willing to bid the bird up to a higher price than when you are buying for resale. I don't think it is wrong to bid on a bird and pay a decent price for it. Most sellers would agree that we rely upon you to help keep prices up a little bit - since birds would go for next to nothing sometimes if you were not bidding on them. As a buyer, I like a bargain, but almost feel sorry for the seller if I feel like the price was way too low. You help keep the prices decent for the seller without causing anyone to pay more than something is really worth.
NanaKat - We need more folks like you, who are willing to stand and be heard on the real issue - instead of focusing on their own political agenda or their own beliefs to the point that no one benefits from the conversation.
Before today is over, I want to say "Thank You" to our military members, past and present. Thank you for leaving your family to protect mine. If you haven't been required to serve in combat, thank you for the support you provide to our military during time of war and to our nation - at ALL times in history. If you are the family of someone in the Armed Forces, thank you for the sacrifices you have made and the support you have provided to enable your loved one to be a focused member of the Armed Forces - whichever branch of military.
( an icon saluting the US flag would be a good addition to this post )
For those of you who hatch eggs this may not be exciting, but for my first time trying to hatch something, I'm anxious and excited. The Serama hen who's been sitting on eggs is on day 22 & 1/2 now. Only two of the seven have made it this far. I've been going out and checking for pips about every 8 - 12 hours since the 18th day and was beginning to get discouraged, thinking none of the chicks were going to hatch. Just now I checked on them again and I can hear a chick chirping inside one of the eggs! I was so excited when I heard it I nearly peed my pants!
I sure hope at least one of the two is able to hatch and survive. That would be quite an accomplishment for someone who never intended to hatch any chicks. This is the most fun I've had all week!

Mike,
You are a good honest man. I have met very few like you. I know for a fact you will buy what is right and at a good price, or pay a fair price for something. I also know you will not just run up a bidder. if they want they can buy like everyone else. if they want it for free, they better make some friends..

Very well said.

I've never met anyone who is as fair to people as you, Michael. Don't let people like that get you down.
