***OKIES in the BYC III ***

these little guy are amazing- he has a cockatiel cage and sits next to the window watching all the action, took him out and he promptly snuggled- no attempts at wandering around- so i can contain his 'donations' to a towel...

the other two are in another cage in the studio, since they are used to cages i can just take them out for some playtime outside and bring them back inside in their cage- much easier that way...

meanwhile flo(the silkie) started laying last spring- about two weeks she wanted babies... hatched them out, raised em, went broody again, gave her keets, now tonite she decided time to go broody again! good grief girl take a break!

So glad you are enjoying your little silkied serama...they ARE amazing...he came from a group and had NEVER been handled. With just a little love and attention they become gentle very quickly. When I'm training a bird for a Table Top show, I just sit them on a small table and leave them there with food and water (I'm someplace nearby supervising)...after a short time they just think of it as 'home' and are perfectly content and happy. They are real 'home-bodies' and make wonderful pets.

Here in Pryor, didn't bring all the shamo I wanted. Just wasn't feeling well this morning. SplitSocket brought a few, so we have a decent showing.

Robin, he's in a bird cage? Just how small are these guys.....? They don't want to take off and go poking around? I've got my 2 Doves inside but Doves aren't like chickens. They don't actually LIKE me and want to see what I'm doing, they're not tame like my chickens. If I could find a bird that size that acted chicken-like I think I'd really like that.
I'm going to go look these guys up properly. I've resisted all I can resist. You all are nothin' but a bunch of enablers!
Where can I find one of these Silkied Serama??

One quick trip to Moore is what you need to do.

Good Late Morning Everybody!

Sorry to hear people giving you grief Michael. Some are just greedy and do not want to pay for anything. I like a bargain as much as anybody but if others are willing to pay more then I can or will for it, more power to em! We all know what a wonderful guy you are Mike so poo-poo on them.

Well I am officially smoked. Had to burn the brush pile today even though there was a bit more wind then I would normally burn in. Did not have much choice, had a bunch of bird carcasses that were starting to stink really bad. Needless to say with the wind it went real quick. A pile that was 6ft high and 10 feet each way burned in 45 mins. waiting for the last of it to die down then I am going to go douse the embers. It was nice to get so much stuff burned. Now with having all the scrap metal hauled off and the brush cleared off, the place is looking nicer. Still have a lot of work to do but little bit by little bit, I am getting it done.

Have to start getting cleaned up in a bit to get ready for Blanchard auction. Looking forward to it. Yeah!!!!

Just so everyone knows I am still in the market for giant cochins. Poor Gregory needs some fluffy lady friends. Bless his poor heart, he seems so lost and confused since the attack. I sure love that rooster and want to make him happy.

See all those who are going to the auction tonight soon. Will miss all of you that are not going to be able to make it. Have a good night!

We did give you the standard disclaimer about the enablers on this thread who will want to assist you in the acquisition of more birds than you have already built coops for, didn't we?

This forum is not for those that can't protect themselves from chicken enablers.
