***OKIES in the BYC III ***

Michael, you just tell me who to whup! I got your back. You're a great man and you work hard and have time for everyone. Those people need to understand it's an auction. If they want to pay a set price they need to go to a breeder.
And if they want to get mad at you they'll have to go through all of us

Totally agree.

Michael - Those of us who know you can tell the difference between when you are bidding on behalf of someone else and when you are buying for resale. When buying for someone else, you are willing to bid the bird up to a higher price than when you are buying for resale. I don't think it is wrong to bid on a bird and pay a decent price for it. Most sellers would agree that we rely upon you to help keep prices up a little bit - since birds would go for next to nothing sometimes if you were not bidding on them. As a buyer, I like a bargain, but almost feel sorry for the seller if I feel like the price was way too low. You help keep the prices decent for the seller without causing anyone to pay more than something is really worth.

NanaKat - We need more folks like you, who are willing to stand and be heard on the real issue - instead of focusing on their own political agenda or their own beliefs to the point that no one benefits from the conversation.

Well said on both.

Mike,
You are a good honest man. I have met very few like you. I know for a fact you will buy what is right and at a good price, or pay a fair price for something. I also know you will not just run up a bidder. if they want they can buy like everyone else. if they want it for free, they better make some friends..

X2

Is crazy how people get at sales and auctions. We were at one not long ago that had some birds I wanted, the price just kept going and going, I realy wanted them and ended up getting them, was willing to keep bidding to get them, the guy i ended up out bidding got real pi--ed off, but thats what a sell or auction is about, right ? An aution, the item goes to the highest bidder.

Good Morning okie's!!

No time to read the dust up on Michael but I can tell you that you have nothing to feel bad about, you are the most honest, loyal, trusting & helpful person I know! You keep doing your thing & say a prayer for those others, sounds like they need it.

Off to a soccer tournament today in SandSprings......5 am stinks.

Day off and have been up since 330am, lots of coffee and am ready for daylight, need to finish up some outside chores today. Bet I could sleep until 10am on monday though since I have to work, lol. Doesn't make sense to be up so early on friday, saturday and sunday when I am off, but feel like I could sleep in on work days. And I like my job !

Morning I'm having a tough time getting started. We must have had a skunk or opossum out and about last night because Conner wanted to patrol the yard several times after midnight.

Michael - Sounds like someone just wanted to gripe. Duhh. It's an auction. What were they thinking? You just keep doing what you're doing. By the way, when you're at an auction bidding, buyers wake up and take second and third looks at the birds they may have passed over before. The sellers and the auction houses are thanking you, so don't lose any sleep over the little noises the gripers make. They don't belong at an auction if they aren't willing to raise their hands.

sorry to hear that some peps dont understand how auctions work even thought im NPIP nad cant just buy birds for my breeding programs ( withou quarentin and testing ) i still buy for friends and have a lot of peps that have me buy birds for them somtime peps ask me before the auction if i buy a cages if the can buy a pair or trio after somtimes they can't pay 10$ a piece for 15 birds but they can for one or two so i buy the lot ( helping the seller get a fair price ) the sell them waterver they whant out of it. at the last stillwell auction there was a caged of some nice bantam dark cornish about 15 in the cage there was peps that whanted them just not 15 so i got them and before i left they all have new home and all was happy exsept for one who said it was my falt that he could not buy them because i ran him up so i know what you mean DONT LIKE IT BOTHER YOU let it be whater of a ducks back
