You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma

Disclaimer: some of the folks on this thread are addicted to hatching eggs, attending poultry auctions and/or otherwise acquiring poultry. Since addicts tend to be enablers, some of us may try to "enable" you in the acquisition of the same addictions, so that you too may acquire more poultry than you ever dreamed of building coops for.

wonder if they recognize each others crows??? he will listen to the big guys and then cut loose

Yes they do and if you listen close every moring the order of the crowing will be pretty much the same. Crowing is a territorial statement. When the big Shamo crows all of the other roosters stop for about an hour, and he is here in the house.

Don, Where'd you get those buckeyes at? Good looking birds! Didn't think anyone here in Oklahoma had them or at least in any quantity.

Edited to add a photo of my roo

This should help you tell which is which.

I've looked there before, I love that site. But mine are just 4 1/2 mo old. I think I have 2 males and a female which would suck for the female but I've figured out how to separate if that's the case.
