They're incredibly calm and so small. Sopping wet he's no bigger than my Dove. I think you need one

Some interesting birds at the auction tonight - Red (maybe brown) Crested Partridge Polish - all roos though, a Nice Birchin Bantam Cochin trio - Muesky scored them.

Muesky is checking into that!

If it's from beggs/bristow don't buy from her. I talked to her a lot and it was bunch of lies, she sold me hatchery type birds for 3x what they would have been if they were just average birds (which they were less) the colors were off in all that I got from her as were the personalities, my young roo even had to go to rooster camp. The pullets came around but it took a long time of babying and treats and even then they were skittish, typical of hatchery birds. Also she didn't want me to go to her place to see her breeding stock, I thought it was because we changed the time and she said she had errands to run but after the fact I won't do anything like that again.
Just a heads up

I plan on having some in the spring or I believe there will be someone selling at the Shawnee show. I would split a pair if the hen was breeding quality and you only wanted the roo

I agree. Talked to her on the phone once..that was enough. (and that's all I'm gonna say about that)

Back from the Blanchard auction. Saw some BYCers there - mjgigax, muesky, Michael, Al, Elwood Lightfoot, okracefan and his brother (sorry, his screen name escapes me at the moment.) Didn't get to visit with everyone, but had a good time with those I did. Some nice looking birds at the auction selling for cheap prices. dgibson - there were some nice bantam White Faced Black Spanish there. We thought of you, but thought you were wanting the large fowl.

Exciting news! The baby Serama has hatched and is all fluffed out already! Yay! Pics below.

Al surprised me with a gift of two baby Sil-Go chicks, seven days old. I had never heard of them, but they sure are cute. From what I read on the internet, they're sex linked birds, and the hens lay lots of eggs. So next spring she should be ready to lay. Al, if you're lurking, thank you again for the babies!

Ksane - I am very proud of my Okie Chandelier, by the way. It's a one-of-a-kind item!

Baby Serama - it's so tiny! I've never seen a chick this small.

Proud mama with her chick

The Sil-Go chicks. The darker one is female, the lighter one is male. If the baby Serama was next to them, you'd see how small it is in comparison - about half their size.

Well while the wife was watching/sleeping thru the ballgame I finished up another quilt. Its called Grandmothers puzzle and I tried to make it with fallish colors. Turned out kind of pretty I think. Guess it will have to go on MIL's bed since it will fit her hospital bed.

Oh wow, I'm so glad you and BFrancis said this. Yes, that's the one-in Beggs. I'm sure Muesky will appreciate knowing that, too. I'll be at the Shawnee show also. I'm hoping my Roo didn't die from something he somehow got exposed to here, the hen seems fine so far. I'm going to watch her close, I'll know in a week or so if she's going to be ok. I'll gladly split a pair or trio or whatever with you. Mine will just be pets but the advantage of show lines is temperament (to me). I just loved the boy I lost and this girl is wonderful. I'm NOT done with Faverolles. I don't care if I have to build them a sterile shed on the other side of the propery. I love em.
