But I'm lovin' the quilt!
Upcdayz, I just got the 1 Serama boy.....but since you and Firefly BOTH planted the seed in my head about a pair the thought won't go away!
Well back from the auction and am really tired. As MaryJo said I scored a trio of birchen cochins. The rooster is very handsome and I got them for cheep, I mean cheap.
Also bought a pair of white ameraucana hens, as well as two nice plastic barrels with facets built in, all I have to do is put a water heater in them, add the pipe wrap to the hoses, get the pan heaters out and then it is a no haul water winter.
I am so excited.
I guess I better head to bed, my pillow and warm blanket are calling me ever so temptingly.
Good Morning Okies..
I got home a while ago from the sale took a bit getting new birds in a quarentine pen and was proud to see that one of my live traps had got a prize in the form a confirmed chicken killing dog,
I have already informed the neighbors that I wasn't sure which one was getting in but they'd know cause it would be the one that dosen't come home,, I actually think this one was a stray that belonged to someone that moved out and left it behind I don't understand that or dumping them out here in the country for someone else to have to deal with them either but that being the case it's better off now anyway, I just wish I could know that that was the only one....
I picked up 8 new Buff Orpington pullets and a load of other things I couldn't live without LOL
It was good to see the BYC'ers there, Hope everyone has a great day I'm calling it a night

I hear ya on the chicken eating dogs, was cooking supper last night and heard a dog barking, looked out an saw a black pit/lab mix digging under the fence to try an get in the chicken yard. Ran her off and went over to my neighbors to tell them their dog was trying to get in my chicken yard. Neighbor says that is not our dog, she just hangs out here. Needless to say the dog has been there all summer, had a litter of pups there, have seen her tied up there, they have been feeding her................. but she ain't their dog ? What the heck, so anyway said , guess you won't be upset when I shoot her then, since she is not your dog, and I am not going to have her kill my chickens and turkeys, hm, guess we will see how that turns out. Had to spend a hour fixing the hole she dug and the fencing that she destroyed. No animal control where we live since it is a rural area and there are no city ordances out here. Thats my rant for the day about dogs that are allowed to destroy other people animals. And dang it dinner was an hour late, lol.
