***OKIES in the BYC III ***

We have a good chicken dog we are looking to find a home for. 11 month old female, German Shepherd and Great Dane cross. We raised her from a pup, she absolutely will not mess with chickens and is very well mannered in the house. She should finish out around seventy pounds, built like a small dane, tan colored and a relaxed kind of dog that gets along with other dogs. If you are in need of a good chicken dog PM me. She loves HER ppl, not crazy about strangers.

Thanks Lynn. But if I had a beagle it would need to know how to hunt, or be young enough to train. Health wont let me do any hunting and these two look like pets more than rabbit dogs. Sorry to hear about the job. Again thanks

Hi again, I lurk on here all the time but don't post very often. Sure enjoy learning from everyone else though! I lost one of my 2 precious white silkie girls today to crop stasis - I had treated her at home for 10 days using all the best home remedies I learned on BYC and it wasn't getting any better but she was still eating, drinking, acting happy etc. Then I took her to the vet where they flushed her crop and gave me the Duramycin and Baytril to give her at home. That was Tuesday. She went downhill fast after that. She was passing a lot of water and nothing else was moving through. She was a very good girl and she will be missed a whole lot. Her "sister" would not leave her side as she was in the process of passing. She stayed right there beside her and would not budge. And the one that passed away would have done the same for her - little hearts of gold... Now I have one lone silkie girl, and my two Seramas who are kept separate from the silkies but they can see one another usually. I am going to the Shawnee show - had planned to all year, but now I guess I need to buy a friend for my lonely girl. If anyone knows of anyone who might have a sweet young mille fleur D'uccle or silkie hen they could bring I would like to buy one. My surviving silkie girl is 8 or 9 months old.

Sorry for your lost hen. They do get to be pets sometimes. Hope you have good luck finding her anew friend.

Nana that was so sad (the frozen cow pic) where did you find that!
It was nice here again. I put the seramas and inside young chicks out on the grass along with the g.pigs. Built a new flight pen for the new pigeons. Supposed to get nasty again starting Sunday.

Shawnee sure sound s like a fun thing to attend. Hope everyone in the area gets to go.

Joe and PoCo let us know what bargains were at the Stilwell sale tonight. Wish I was there with you. Here are some pics of the g.pigs outside.
