***OKIES in the BYC III ***

New Castle this weekend.

Hope it's not the chupa cabra out there with your dogs!

Told DH my head was all foggy today! I was @ blanchard sale last wk! Driving down the rd tonight tried to turn on my bright lights & turned on the windshield washers instead. Got home from DD basketball game & both girls needed help with math homework & of course DH was gone. So far tonight the dogs brought a mole & something else that was dark & fuzzy up to the porch. I didn't inspect it, prefer to pretend it isn't there. I am sure they will have more in their pile of found goodies by sunrise. I have such sweet dogs, they leave me nice things on the porch every night. The dogs are quiet for now. I do think it is time for bed.......

Don't feel bad..my nogg'in is always foggy! Got a kick out of saying your dogs always leave you stuff...always Christmas time at your house!

A few wks ago the neighbor lost a cow. Guessing he let it lay for critters to take care of. I awoke to the one of the hind quarters at the bottom of my steps. Not much the dogs bring up surprises me anymore. The only thing they bring up that is still alive seems to be turtles. Told dh our house plans must include a large porch. I am tired of tripping over the dogs & all they drag up.

Spending the day packing stuff for my sisters move tomorrow-- the joys of family.

Maybe I missed it-- havinfun was hatching some of those pretty BR this wk. did they hatch yet. I really want to get some chicks if there are any not spoken for, the rooster was just stunning!

So, how do other rooster act towards a capon?
I read a poultry publication, from the 20s, I think, that had a story about a lady who was going to lose her farm after her husband died. She learned to caponize cockerels and then hired out several times a week and was able to keep her home. Back then a few dollars went a long way. She was able to get more for her extra roosters, too, so any extra time she had could be invested in improving her own flock for sale.

Good Morning everyone~ I am looking forward to somewhat warmer weather today. DD took the computer for homework last night but I am not sure I can add anything to the conversation.

The two I have right now free-range during the day with a hen and two mature roosters. At night they go into the juvenile pen for safety. So far, they have all agreed to get along. I've read that one can keep many capons together, or many capons in with hens, and there isn't any problem with aggression.

ok, my boy will be ready when you are...

sooner...where do you find things like this:?
