***OKIES in the BYC III ***

You know Sooner there are pics of you out there too! I may have to see if I can dig up some of those great"iwasn't ready for that shot" ones and do some posting of my own! Lol. No I wouldn't do that to ya!

Love those swans Tony!

I' m back at house watching today, sure be glad when it's done! Supposed to be another beautiful day. And that's ok because it's one more closer to spring.

I am excited about POOPS & NorthEast Oklahoma Chicken Swap!!! I am looking forward to having two events this year.

ETA: Had the wrong name! Sorry

Me too Sooner. I think it is great to have more chickens stuff out there for the public (and of course for us chicken people). One in April and one in June will have them spaced out enough so a person can have new stuff to display time the second one rolls around.

When and Where is POOPS?

And I also wondered if anyone is interested in some cochins. I had someone contact me in Tulsa who has 3 roos and 1 hen...1 roo is black, 2- barred roos and one barred hen...all are pets! She doesn't want anyone to eat these guys but can't have roos in town and her kids dumped the cochins back on her after getting other types of chickens? I would like the hen and 1 roo, but what would I do with 3 pet roos? Not to mention the poor hen? If you pm me I can send snaps of them. They are last spring hatch.

You will most likely have a hard time adding new chickens to the exsiting flock. I personally would make sure to add all three at one time, it would also be nice if those three were already a group so they could hang together while the pecking order is adjusted.
No kidding! I have horrible luck integrating chickens. My layer yard has all the tough biker-chick types in it and that's where newcomers go if they're mean to the gentler ones I try them with 1st. My Red Stars will beat the socks off the Guinea birds if that tells you anything about how tough they are. Definitely add multiples when you do.I'm just about ready to put a couple of the meanest Old English Game Bantams into the layers yard, I'm pretty sure the little brats could hold their own
