I am ordering a LARGE amount of supplies, and came across this

Permethrin 10% Concentrate for long-lasting control of darkling beetles, poultry lice, fowl mites, fleas, & ticks. Can be used on goats, sheep, poultry, and dogs. Mix ½ oz. per gallon of water. After first usage, repeat in 10 -2 days to break the cycle.

I also saw it is used to spray in the yard to control all pest even mosquitos. Anyone used it? Any thoughts? We didn't have any mosquito problems this yr, but if it rains this spring we will have mosquitos right???

I am hanging bat houses and bird houses around the perimeter of our yard. Fortunately one neighbor has a privacy fence so they will never know. The other neighbor doesn't care. Hopefully we can encourage some bats to the neck of the city to take care of the mosquitoes for us without pesticides.

I have mentioned bat houses to DH, he isn't sold on the thought. Sometimes he takes all the fun out of things.

It isn't a lake, just an old cow pond that holds water real good. They do need swimming water though because their legs won't hold all the weight if they couldn't get off then when they need to.

Tony, I never knew that about Swans. But my god, they're just gorgeous. A cow pond? haha! To those of us with only 2.5 acres and fish tanks it looks like a lake to me!
